15 february 2007 ~ Length & Format

We have been discussing pretty intensely how long we go for and in which format. Length is a hard one when you are dealing with visual effects.

We do not want this to be another demo reel. We do not want this to be effects based. We want a short film with feature quality post production! Not too much to ask right??:) If we shoot plenty of live action, we are thinking right now that our goal can be anywhere between 3-8 minutes. We prefer to have a majority of the short be live action. There might be some invisible effects here and there...but the majority is establishing character and emotion.

As the emotion builds we are thinking that the effects and abstractness can build. Our goal as of now, is to create an emotionally rich 4+ minutes of live action where the effects are placed strategically to support the story.
